Spain is Macabeo's homeland and specifically in the northern regions. It is the principal ingredient in white wines like Cava and in the  Rioja  and Navarra regions where it is called Viura.

Gran Gesta D.O. Cava Brut Covides
A blend of Xarel- lo, Macabeo, and Parellada from the Cava Region. Elaborated in the traditional method, aged and matured in the cellars in Sant Saduni d'Anoia. Pale yellow in colour with floral and honey touches, it is fresh, well balanced, fruity with tiny bubbles. Ideal for aperitif and to accompany rice, fish, seafood and braised white and red meat.
